Titanic's Whistles
Titanic had whistles on each funnel, but only the ones on the 1st and 2nd funnel worked. The ones on the 3rd and 4th funnels were just for show. The whistles were very loud, and were powered by steam from the boilers. The whistles signaled the ship's departure from port, and were tested every day at Noon while the ship was at sea.
